Eyes like a shutter, mind like a lens

Hi! I'm Jules.

Photography is my passion. I love capturing raw and real moments.

My aim is to make my clients feel comfortable, beautiful and at ease in front of the camera, to make your photo shoot a fun and memorable experience.

Born and bred in the Waikato and still based here today, with my partner and children (who are sometimes willing models), my interest in photography stems from childhood.

I picked up my first SLR camera at around age 15 and have loved growing and learning with photography since.

And finally, why Lumad?

My children's names are Lucy and Maddox,

My loves and inspirations.

FAQ's

Q: What is the best time of day for photography?

A: The soft natural light provided by the olden hour is the best for outdoor sessions, one hour before sunset.

Q: How many images will I receive?

A: This depends on your type of session. As a general guideline between 20-50 photos is normal. Expect lots more for weddings! I also love giving my clients the images that I think will make them laugh, there can be a lot!

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: Yes. A 20% deposit will secure your booking.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We understand that things come up and plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a photo shoot, we require at least 48 hours notice. If you do not provide 48 hours notice, your deposit may not be refunded.

Q: What happens if the weather isn't great for our outdoor session?

A: Because forecasts aren't always reliable it's best to wait as long as possible to make a call about whether to go ahead or reschedule. If we decide to reschedule. There is no additional charge in this case.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

A: We recommend booking as far in advance as possible, especially for weekend sessions as these spots usually fill up first!

Wedding bookings are usually made a few months in advance.

Q: What should I wear to my session?

Keep your clothing simple and neutral. Avoid patterns and bright colours as they distract the viewers eye from what's important! Colours that match the landscape in your location session are ideal, eg. soft browns, beige, earthy greens.

Professional hair and makeup is optional but for your confidence and top quality results we recommend considering it!

Q: Do you do any other types of photography?

A: Sure! Send me a message, we can have a chat about what you're after and make a plan from there.
